The Boathouse in Christchurch is seeking experienced Bar Staff to join our busy waterside restaurant. You will work in a fast-paced environment, delivering excellent service and engaging with guests to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Roles include serving beverages, handling cash, and assisting with bar setup and cleanliness. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential to support our team and guest needs.

Qualifications

• Experience working behind a bar.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at the bar in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a friendly and efficient service.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers.
• Enter drinks on the till system and handle cash accurately.
• Prepare-ticketed drinks for guests in the restaurant and assist with bar setup.
• Operate the coffee machine in Barista style.
• Identify customers, verify ages, and ensure compliance with licensing rules.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and stock levels throughout shifts.
• Provide a positive guest experience and upsell when appropriate.

Job Description:

We are looking for experienced, customer focused Bar Staff to join our busy waterside restaurant and friendly team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable, and confident working in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent service to our customers.

Your job role will include:

• Working well under pressure to serve customers at a fast, efficient pace.
• Providing a friendly and positive guest experience.
• Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to our customers.
• Serving customers at the bar, entering drinks on to the till system and cash handling.
• Preparing ticketed drinks for our guests in the restaurant.
• Using the coffee machine - Barista style.
• Assessing bar customers' needs and preferences and making recommendations.
• Constant up keep and cleanliness of the bar.
• Stock up.
• Checking identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers.
