Exciting opportunity to join our brilliant team at Kernow Hospitality Group.The Swan Hotel part of the Kernow Hospitality Group is busy pub, in the heart of Wadebridge town centre.
Swan is a great pub , focusing on the things that make a good pub great: quality food made from fresh locally sourced produce at reasonable prices, the best kept ales, music, games, sport and a whole lot of fun.
An opportunity is now available for a shift manager to join us and help drive the business forward.
Although we are very focused on our food offer, we work hard to keep our pub side of the business alive also, with live music, quiz night, along with a whole host of other events throughout the year.
An exciting role has come up, for an experienced person to join our team as a shift manager. You will be hard-working, adaptable to the seasonal demands of the business and have a happy can-do attitude, with the ability to help us grow our people and sales.
This position is not for the faint hearted, and office managers need not apply!

- As shift manager you will be a master of all trades from great tasting coffee, awesome cocktails, brilliant banter with the locals, look slick on the restaurant floor and do it all with a dazzling smile.
- Energetic and vibrant, you should enjoy being the face of the business - you will need to be out there with our customers and supporting the pub manager in leading the team. You need to look the part - smart and well presented; you will set the standard for the business from the start. The right candidate will have a natural gift for hospitality and be able to motivate and lead a team through their passion, their example and their commitment.
- Be full of ideas to help grow and build our business and work with the team to move the business forward.
- You must be confident with the business side of things, including rotas, setting and maintaining standards of service and training staff.
- You will be fun, outgoing and a people person with a real passion for food and drink.
- We are looking for someone who can run the bar and have a crack with the customers as well as being able to jump to the restaurant offering a great service throughout.
- We need a big personality who can lead from the front, with a great eye for detail.
- Supporting the pub manager and shift managers in the day to day running of the business.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the bar and restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service
- Manage and train front of house team, providing guidance and support as needed
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability
- Create and maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for guests
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as necessary
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to coordinate food and beverage service
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and make recommendations for improvement
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a leadership role in a bar or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proven ability to supervise and motivate a team
- Culinary background or experience in food production is a plus
- Familiarity with hotel or hospitality operations is an asset

Job Details:
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: £26,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
- Schedule: 10 hour shift, 12 hour shift, 8 hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday, Night shift, Weekend availability
- Supplemental pay types: Bonus scheme, Performance bonus, Quarterly bonus, Tips
- Experience: Supervising experience: 1 year (preferred), Hospitality: 2 years (preferred), Customer service: 2 years (preferred), Management: 1 year (preferred)
