Job summary

Mimosa is a premium bar, restaurant & club on Clapham High Street, London. We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager to lead our team, oversee daily operations, and ensure excellent customer service, strong financial performance, and a well-run, compliant venue.

The role covers staff management, customer service, inventory, budgeting and marketing, plus vendor relations and compliance. Immediate start with a salary of £35,000–£40,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Health & Safety First Aid Certificate (essential).
• Proven experience in bar or hospitality management.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management

• Recruit, hire, and train bar staff.
• Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
• Foster a positive, collaborative team environment.

Customer Service

• Ensure a consistently high standard of customer satisfaction.
• Promptly and professionally address customer complaints and inquiries.
• Implement and train staff on customer service protocols and standards.

Operational Oversight

• Oversee day-to-day operations, including menu planning and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor product quality and presentation standards.

Financial Management

• Prepare and manage the bar's budget, including revenue and expenses.
• Analyse financial reports and implement strategies to boost profitability.
• Manage payroll and maintain accurate bookkeeping.

Marketing & Promotion

• Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and build the venue's profile.
• Plan and coordinate promotional events and special offerings.

Vendor Management

Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records and report on performance to senior management.
• Ensure full compliance with local and national laws on food/drink service and employment.
