Job summary

Soho House in Brighton is seeking a Bar Manager to lead the bar operation, shaping a world-class beverage experience that reflects the club's quality and atmosphere. You’ll oversee service, staff, product selection, and financial performance to keep the bar vibrant and profitable within the Club.

You will develop and inspire your team, collaborating with Food & Beverage and Events to deliver everything from signature cocktails to large events, ensuring top standards and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in similar capacity.
• Experience in high-volume environments and fast-paced service.
• Hospitality mindset with guest-centric approach.
• Able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Drive service standards by refining systems for members, guests, and staff.
• Lead training sessions on Soho House food and drink programs through storytelling and demonstrations.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless guest interactions aligned with brand expectations.
• Support recruitment by identifying talent needs and participating in interviews.
• Ensure maximum revenue from all beverage sales opportunities.
• Ensure cleanliness standards and safety procedures for the unit and areas.
• Responsible for Mystery Shopper Reports and staff development.
• Participate as a management team member in required meetings.
• Delegate tasks and determine beverage methods to staff during shifts.
• Uphold appearance, safety, and professionalism standards across the team.

The Role…

At Soho House, the

Bar Manager is the leader of the bar operation, responsible for creating a world-class beverage experience that reflects the quality, exclusivity, and atmosphere of the club. You will oversee the full bar operation, from service delivery and staff management to product selection and financial performance, ensuring the bar remains a vibrant and profitable hub within the Club.

You’ll manage, develop, and inspire your team, and collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage and Events teams to ensure all drinks offerings – from signature cocktails to large-scale events – are delivered to the highest standards.

Key duties…

• Support recruitment efforts by identifying talent needs, participating in interviews, and evaluating candidates alongside People & Development.
• Ensure maximum revenue is achieved from all sales opportunities.
• To ensure cleanliness standards and procedures for the unit & their areas are in accordance with site, company and legal health and safety standards.
• Responsible for Mystery Shopper Reports and staff development.
• Actively participates as a member of the management team in decision making processes, attending required meetings, etc.
• Delegates work and determine beverage methods to staff throughout shift.
• Uphold and enforce standards of appearance, compliance, safety, and professionalism across the team.
