We’re seeking an experienced and confident Bar Manager to oversee our bar service for weddings and events at The Medley Walled Garden, a beautiful seasonal outdoor venue on the banks of the River Thames.

This is a part-time, fixed-term position until the end of September. It is ideal for someone with bar management experience who enjoys working in a relaxed yet professional event setting.

Part-Time Bar Manager (Fixed Term – Until September)

Responsibilities include:

• Managing approximately 20 hours per week, mainly on weekends and some evenings
• Leading bar operations during weddings and events (up to 150 guests)
• Managing and scheduling bar staff to ensure smooth service
• Performing opening and closing duties for the bar and venue
• Collaborating with the Wedding Coordinator to ensure seamless event execution
• Overseeing end-of-night procedures to ensure guests leave efficiently and on time
• Handling stock control, bar setup, and licensing compliance
• Opportunity to develop the drinks menu with seasonal cocktails and local suppliers

What We’re Looking For

• Experience managing a bar team in hospitality or events
• Confidence in leading staff and delivering excellent customer service
• Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
• Availability on weekends, especially Fridays and Saturdays

Contract Details

• Fixed-term contract from now until the end of September
• Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week
• Hourly rate: £13.50
• Location: The Medley Walled Garden, Binsey, Oxford
