At Bromsgrove RFC, we're more than just a bar - we're a community hub that brings people together with great drinks, good vibes, and memorable events. We're looking for a passionate, experienced Bar Manager to lead our team, help shape the atmosphere, and drive the business forward.

The Role
As Bar Manager, you'll take ownership of all aspects of the bar's day-to-day operations. From managing staff and stock to planning exciting events that bring people through the doors, you'll be the driving force behind the club's energy and efficiency. You will work alongside our Business Development Executive to fill gaps in the diary with Club events to generate turnover and deliver external bookings taken by the Business Development Executive.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, train, and motivate a team of bartenders and support staff including venue cleaner
Build a strong team culture that's customer-focused and upbeat
Oversee rotas, manage shift patterns, and ensure adequate staffing
Stock & Cellar Management
Order stock in line with demand and supplier schedules
Maintain accurate stock control and wastage records
Ensure high standards in cellar management (at least 2 years' cellar experience preferred)
Event Planning & Promotion
Organise and coordinate in-house events (live music, themed nights, food pairings, etc.)
Plan a three-month rolling events calendar to increase footfall and engagement
Work closely with performers, vendors, and promoters to execute events smoothly
Operations & Compliance
Handle general admin including ordering, invoicing, and rotas
Ensure health & safety and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld
Maintain licensing laws and uphold responsible alcohol service at all times
Provide staff training or organise external training to ensure all legal requirements are met
Customer Experience
Be a visible and approachable leader on shift, ensuring excellent customer service
Address customer feedback professionally and proactively
Consistently maintain high service standards and ambiance

About You
At least 4 years' experience in a bar management or similar supervisory role
Proven experience in stock control, ordering, and cellar management
Confident in planning and executing events or working as part of an events team
Strong people skills - able to lead, inspire and manage a diverse team
Well-organised with a keen eye for detail and a proactive mindset
A self-starter who takes initiative and is passionate about hospitality
Up to date with health & safety, hygiene, and licensing requirements
Experience of EPOS or similar
Able to problem solve / implement improvements for the benefit of the Club
