Job summary

Bar Manager at Caravan Southbank in London leads the bar team, upholds health and safety, sets service standards, and inspires the crew to deliver exceptional experiences from the first guest welcome.

Overall earnings up to £17.70 per hour

This November, we’re opening our tenth, and biggest, Caravan at the Southbank. And we’re looking for an exceptional Bar Manager to lead our bar team. We’re after someone kind, confident and who knows how to support & inspire a team, welcome & awe guests from the first impression, and who's passionate about beverages and wants to share that passion with their team & guests.

You’ll be joining Caravan as we open a special new restaurant, with two floors, multiple bars and plenty of opportunity to make your mark from day one.

The role

As Bar Manager you’ll work alongside your General Manager and the management team to make sure the day-to-day operation of the bar runs brilliantly every day. That means setting the standard for health & safety, culture, hospitality and developing the team around you to make sure every guest that leaves the restaurant has the best experience possible. You’ll know how to lead from the front, when to coach and when to jump in and help get things moving.

What you'll be doing as Bar Manager

• Ensure our beverage and service standards are consistently delivered
• Leading by example and helping create the kind of hospitality people want to come back for
• Coaching, training and developing the bar team, sharing your knowledge and passion as you go
• Leading compliance on all legal requirements regarding weights and measures, licensing laws, health, and safety as well as fire procedures.
• Managing stock efficiently and taking accountability for the smooth back-end operation of the bar
• Working closely with the wider restaurant team to give every guest the best experience possible
