Sodexo Live! is hiring a Bar Duty Manager for Shearer's Bar at St James' Park, Newcastle. You will lead a team, drive sales, and ensure top customer service on matchdays and events. The role is on-site with evenings and weekend shifts, offering a generous package and benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in bar/hospitality venues.
• Strong customer service mindset with guest focus.
• Proven leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in busy, customer-facing environments.
• Good understanding of licensing and health & safety requirements.
• Calm, organised under pressure with flexible hours.
• Evenings, weekends and event days availability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of bar staff and glass collectors.
• Support management in delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Ensure smooth operation on matchdays, events and peak periods.

We're now looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Bar Duty Manager to join the team at Shearer's Bar, one of Newcastle's most popular hospitality destinations within the iconic St. James' Park.

As Bar Duty Manager you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the bar, ensuring guests receive exceptional service every time they visit. We're seeking a confident and energetic hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front.

You’ll be someone who loves hospitality, enjoys building great teams and takes pride in creating memorable guest experiences. You'll bring energy, positivity and a hand-on approach to every shift, helping us deliver service that's as passionate as the Newcastle supporters we welcome through our doors.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and inspire a team of bar staff and glass collectors

What You Bring:

• Previous supervisory experience within a bar, hospitality, leisure or licensed venue environment
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service
• Strong leadership and team motivation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience working in a busy, customer-facing environment
• Good understanding of licensing regulations and health & safety requirements
• Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and event days

Desirable

• Experience working within stadiums, arenas or other high-volume venues
• Personal Licence Holder
• Experience using POS systems
• Knowledge of stock control and ordering processes
• Event or large-scale hospitality experience
