Location: Exeter HDV

Get paid for doing what you love, enjoy loads of perks and benefits, learn new skills, and build a career with Hotel du Vin.

Are high standards second nature to you? Do you love engaging with people and making guests smile every day by delivering exceptional service? Do you want to be part of something different, working with the best food, drinks, and a brand you can be proud of? We love food, wine, and cocktails — almost as much as you do!

You will have experience working in a busy restaurant and/or bar and be seeking the next step in your career. As the face of the restaurant and bar within our hotel, you'll help manage flow and communicate with the kitchen and management team to ensure a smooth dining experience for our guests.

We operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and need flexible staff for various shifts. We are busier during evenings and weekends, but shift patterns and hours are flexible and can be discussed at interview.

We offer nationally recognized apprenticeships alongside detailed brand training to support your career development. We aim to help you be 'The Difference' in creating memorable guest experiences.

We foster an environment where you can progress into roles like Head of Department — we actively encourage internal growth and advancement.

In addition to competitive pay, we offer:

  • Heavily discounted staff room rates at Malmaison, Hotel du Vin, and Frasers Hospitality, starting from £65 per night.
  • 50% off the best available rate for friends and family.
  • 35% off dining in our brasseries and bistros.
  • Fully funded apprenticeship programs to develop your career.
  • High street discounts on shops, experiences, holidays, and more.
  • Cycle to work scheme — save up to 40% on bikes.
  • Healthcare cash plans including dental, optical, and medical from £5/month.
  • Referral bonuses up to £1500 for recommending new staff.
  • A professional uniform that looks great.
  • A wellness calendar with activities like Pay Day Lunches, National Popcorn Day, Mental Health Awareness Week, and others.
  • Wagestream — access your earned wages instantly, manage your money better, and save directly from your salary.
  • Complimentary stays on your 1st, 3rd, and 5th anniversaries with dinner, bed, and breakfast.
  • Support for neurological health through our sponsorship of The Brain Charity.
  • Employee Assistance Programme — free, confidential support 24/7 for you and your family.

Our Sustainability Goals include:

  • 100% renewable electricity, mainly from UK wind farms.
  • Recycling at least 70% of hotel waste, driven by staff efforts and our Sustainability Council.
  • Switching to chemical-free cleaning systems and eco-friendly kitchen products.
  • Volunteering for sustainable charities two days per year, paid.
