Our hotel

The Balmoral is located at Edinburgh’s most prestigious address, No. 1 Princes Street, where the Old Town stops and the New Town begins. Our hotel’s majestic clock defines the city’s skyline, and since the day we opened in 1902, it has run three minutes fast to ensure our guests will never miss their train.

Your key responsibilities

Rocco Forte Hotels are a collection of iconic hotels that respect the individuality of the location and its team members, encouraging them to be their natural selves while providing a local, authentic experience to our guests.

Regular working pattern with no split shifts offered for this role. 5 working days out of 7.

As a valued part of the Forte family, you will:

  • Work alongside the chefs to prepare and present food to the highest standards
  • Support junior team members with training and guidance
  • Serve quality dishes to the team or our guests using fresh ingredients
  • Be able to work under pressure during busy periods
  • Tailor the dining from intimate events to larger gatherings
  • Assess quality control and adhere to service standards and food safety regulations
  • Have exceptional culinary skills, taste, and techniques
