Job summary

SLH Consult is assisting a national house builder to recruit an experienced Gateman/Traffic Marshal for an ongoing freelance role at a busy housing development site in Nottingham. You will be the first point of contact, managing site safety and vehicle access.

The successful candidate will hold a valid CSCS card, Traffic Marshal/Vehicle Banksman ticket (CPCS/NPORS or equivalent), and full PPE. 1–2 years of site experience and strong reliability are required, with an immediate start for a team

Qualifications

• Valid CSCS Card required.
• Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman ticket (CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent).
• Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket, steel toe cap boots).
• 1–2 years' experience on a busy housing site.
• Reliability with excellent timekeeping and communication.
• Team-oriented with the ability to work as part of a crew.

Responsibilities

• Manage access: greet visitors and log deliveries.
• Direct traffic: guide delivery vehicles and plant on/off site.
• Pedestrian safety at site entrance boundaries.

SLH Consult are partnering our client a national house builder who are looking to appoint an experienced Gateman / Traffic Marshal for an ongoing freelance position that could span upto 2 years . You will join a busy, fast-paced housing development site in Nottingham.

As the first point of contact, you will manage site safety and control vehicle access.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage access: Greet all site visitors and log incoming deliveries.
• Direct traffic: Safely guide delivery vehicles and plant machinery on and off site.
• Pedestrian safety: Ensure public safety at the site entrance boundaries.
• Secure site: Maintain gate security and check visitor credentials.
• You will also be required to assist with site based duties from time to time.

What We Need From You

• Valid CSCS Card
• Traffic Marshal / Vehicle Banksman Ticket (CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent standard certificate)
• Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket, and steel toe cap boots)
• Experience: Minimum 1-2 years working on a busy housing site.
• Reliability: Excellent timekeeping and communication skills.
• The ability to work as part of a team
