  • Your daily responsibilities will see you providing the supporting information as required to customers at a senior level in Financial Control and other key finance areas.
  • Thrive in a role where you can champion the potential of our business and be recognised for your unwavering integrity and support.
  • This is a job share opportunity, which means you and another colleague will share the duties of one full-time job, with each of you working part-time hours on a pro-rata basis.
What you’ll do

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the delivery and integrity of product control activities for a subset of products for both balance sheet and profit and loss to support statutory and external reporting. To do this, you’ll be reviewing key reporting metrics and evidence of associated controls for consistency.

In addition, you’ll be leading a team to deliver a full set of high-quality and accurate product-level finance data to support the wider financial, statutory, regulatory, and management reporting requirements within agreed timelines.

Your top priorities will include:

  • Complying with relevant policies and considering the adequacy and effectiveness of our business’ controls on a regular basis and making sure that they comply with CEC guidelines.
  • Leading your team to perform product control activities within Banking Product Control and the delivery of the assigned workload within reporting cycle deadlines.
  • Reviewing the month-end production for all activities that sit on the group-wide banking architecture.
  • Being responsible for the balance sheet substantiation of relevant product source balances for our franchises and legal entities.
  • Helping the Banking Product Controller to provide expertise for all month-end activities and participating as an attendee or member in various committees.
  • Ensuring the integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information, including the balance sheet, profit and loss account, and other supporting data for relevant products.
  • Providing your product support expertise to Business Unit Reporting and the Financial Control function where support for our auditors is needed throughout the reporting cycle.
The skills you’ll need

Alongside this, you’ll need experience of leading global teams of finance professionals and delivering core financial controls and reporting outputs, including ledger close, balance sheet substantiation, statutory and management reporting, and external audits.

Furthermore, you’ll need:

  • The ability to build and enhance key relationships at a senior level, while influencing and challenging as required.
  • An understanding of Oracle financial applications and how to use the latest data management techniques and applications, including Python, AWS, and Tableau.
  • Knowledge of change best practices.
  • Experience of delivering change in the financial services industry or medium to large corporates.
