Are you a skilled and experienced Solicitor (2+ PQE) with a passion for Banking Litigation?

A Tier 2 ranked department is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join its Newcastle office as a Senior Solicitor.

This is a unique opportunity to advance your career alongside leading professionals in the market, with high profile clientele, within a widely respected firm known for its expertise in Banking and Financial Litigation across the UK.

Role
With an expanding Banking Litigation department, you will be responsible for managing a broad and complex caseload involving secured and unsecured debt recovery, financial disputes and litigation across various sectors.

Upon joining the team, you will work on behalf of major lender clients, financial institutions and asset managers, supporting them through all stages of litigation, from pre-action strategy to enforcement. You'll represent clients in both the Sheriff Court and Court of Session, and will be responsible for drafting key legal documents, conducting detailed legal research, advising on regulatory compliance, and maintaining up-to-date and accurate case files.

This role offers a balance of autonomy and collaboration. You'll work closely with Senior Solicitors and Partners in Newcastle and across the UK, gaining exposure to high-value disputes and playing a central role in shaping client strategy.

Your Experience

• English and Welsh qualified Solicitor with 2 years relevant Banking Litigation experience
• Some experience in managing a busy caseload involving either:
  • Secured and unsecured debt recovery
  • Financial dispute resolution
  • Fraud and title rectification
  • Tenancy disputes and professional negligence claims
• Proven track record in negotiating settlements and representing clients in both Sheriff Court and the Court of Session.
• Strong research and drafting skills, including pleadings, notices and legal correspondence.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
