Job summary

People First Team Japan/ピープルファーストチームジャパン is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Accountant in London. The role requires fluent Mandarin and English, UK accounting experience, and ACCA/ACA qualification or part qualification.

You will operate core systems, prepare reports for head office and regulators, and coordinate with tax advisors. You will also manage expenses, reconciliations, fixed assets, and assist with audits while driving process improvements and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• ACCA or ACA qualification (or part qualified) preferred.
• Relevant experience in banking or finance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills in Mandarin and English.

Responsibilities

• Operate core accounting systems daily, input entries and perform required operations.
• Produce regular reports to Head Office and regulatory authorities accurately and timely.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors for tax returns, HMRC and HO communications.
• Prepare daily management information, monitor indicators and assist audits and taxation matters.
• Manage expenses, suspense accounts, cash and financial statistics; complete data collations.
• Reconcile Nostro, Vostro and security custodian accounts.
• Assist fixed assets management, hedge accounting and department projects.
• Ensure transaction records are filed accurately and timely.
• Coordinate with IT on digitalisation of reporting and system development.
• Support in updating and optimising departmental processes and policies.

What You'll be Doing:

• Take ownership of expenses, suspense account, cash management, complete and maintain financial statistics and collate information as required;

• Assist company fixed assets management, hedge accounting and other projects as required by the Head of Department;
