Senior Business Analyst, Institutional Banking & Distribution, Business Development
Location - London
Founded in 2007, our client is one of the fastest growing banks of their kind in the UK. They offer personal and corporate savings products and finance for UK residential and commercial property, in addition to sourcing and advising on UK real estate investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Wholesale Banking & Financing Solution and Deputy Head of Institutional Banking & Distribution in driving IB business strategy in Sub Saharan Africa.
- Manage existing African FI relationships and enhance the profitability of the unit in line with the Bank’s Risk Appetite, IBFI budget projections, targets, markets, and the Bank's global strategy.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Support the Relationship Manager in achieving the Department’s Budget.
- Drive the origination of business by marketing new relationships, onboarding, and retaining income-generating clients.
- Prepare and deliver sound credit applications for review by the Credit Risk team, demonstrating strong analytical skills and understanding of Financial Statement Analysis for Banking Clients.
- Ensure compliance with all requirements, including full KYC review and onboarding for new clients, and KYB reviews for existing clients.
- Work with the Business Risk Review team to complete client outreaches and KYC/KYB memos timely and accurately.
- Monitor due dates of Annual Financial Statement Reviews and obtain necessary Board approvals for extensions.
- Prepare limit extension requests for Credit Risk and update system limits upon approval.
- Distribute the Financial Institutions Limits Report weekly.
- Handle customer queries efficiently.
- Support prospecting, due diligence, monitoring, and portfolio management activities.
Experience / Knowledge:
- Experience within Financial Institutions, UK Regulatory knowledge, and understanding of Credit Analysis, KYC & KYB requirements for FI’s, research skills, and analytical capabilities.
- Basic understanding of International Trade Finance.
- Experience working in the African market is highly advantageous.
- French speaking skills are desirable.
- Proficiency in analyzing audited financial statements, Excel, Moody’s Analytical tools, and Flex Reports.
