Job summary

Gateley’s Banking Team in the UK seeks a solicitor with 4–7 years PQE to advise on banking transactions including acquisition finance, real estate finance, project finance and asset-based lending. The role can be based in Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester or Reading, offering a hybrid working pattern with a mix of home and office time and ongoing professional development.

As weare a national team, this position can be based out of our Birmingham,Nottingham, Manchester or Reading office. The successful candidate will havebetween 4-7 years post qualification experience and will be qualified topractice law in England and Wales or equivalent.Gateley and our Banking Team are dedicated toyour personal and professional development.

The team

Client-focused from the outset, our Bankingand Finance team bring a sharp commercial edge to the full range of banking& finance transactions they handle, and are seen as the "go to"advisors for complex matters. Clients are predominantly UK based financialinstitutions including the majority of the main clearing banks and challengerbanks, and also a number of specialist lenders. In addition to being instructedby major lenders, the team acts for a wide range of businesses supporting theirneeds as a borrower – both at home and abroad, across Europe and the US inparticular.

We have one of the most active privateequity and acquisition finance offerings in the market, with experience ofacting for private equity houses, management teams and debt funders (includingbanks and speciality debt funds) across a number of debt structures (includingunitranche and mezzanine/second lien). We also have an extensive real estatefinance practice, with experience in real estate acquisitions, investments anddevelopments and managing extensive portfolios with relationships with variouslenders, major house builders and developers across a range of sectors.

The person

Thecandidate will demonstrate a genuine desire to be part of a rapidly growingteam, enthusiasm and the drive to continue learning and be actively involved inbusiness development activities. This role will suit a solicitor, associate orsenior associate who has previous experience working in a banking team.

Candidateswill be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

• Strong technical and negotiation skills
• Strong drafting experience includingfacility agreements, LMA agreements, credit agreements etc
• Excellent inter-personal skills and aconfident manner in engaging with clients and colleagues at all levels
