Banking and Finance Legal Counsel - 6 Month Interim Contract, London

We are working with a major UK retail and commercial bank that is looking for a Banking and Finance Legal Counsel (4–9 PQE) to join on a 6-month interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity to support a broad range of matters relating to regulated mortgage lending, financial regulation, and securitisation.

Responsibilities:

1. Advise on regulatory and legal issues relating to regulated mortgages
2. Support on the acquisition and securitisation of mortgage portfolios
3. Work across financial regulation, corporate finance, and secured lending matters
4. Partner with internal teams on product development, compliance, and regulatory change initiatives

Qualifications:

• Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 4–9 years’ PQE
• Strong experience in regulated lending, financial regulation, or corporate finance
• Exposure to consumer credit, private wealth banking, and mortgage securitisation is ideal
• A commercially minded, ambitious lawyer with a proactive approach
