Job description

A Top 20 firm is seeking a Banking and Finance Associate to join a Tier 1 ranked department in their vibrant Glasgow office.

Dealing with some of the most high-profile clients in the UK and globally, you will be exposed to top-tier Banking and Finance matters alongside renowned professionals in the industry.

Role
You will join a Top 20 international law firm as a Banking & Finance Associate (2-6 years PQE) within its Tier 1-ranked finance practice, based in Glasgow.

Recognised for its depth, technical excellence and commercial approach, the team advises on some of the most significant and complex banking transactions across the UK and globally.

Dealing with a range of Banking and Finance matters, the group is trusted by leading financial institutions, investment funds, central banks and public bodies to deliver strategic, commercially grounded legal advice.

As a member of this high-performing team, you will be exposed to a broad range of finance work, including leveraged and acquisition finance, real estate finance, fund finance, corporate lending and structured finance. With strong links to other departments such as corporate, real estate and restructuring, the role offers a highly collaborative environment where lawyers work together to provide seamless client service.

In this role, you'll work directly with nationally recognised partners and senior associates, many of whom are leaders in their respective fields. You'll be involved in transactions from start to finish, managing key workstreams and developing close relationships with clients. Whether advising a major UK bank on a lending transaction or supporting government-backed investment into critical infrastructure, you'll play a meaningful role on matters that have real commercial impact.

This is a chance to build your long-term career at a firm that champions development, inclusion and innovation. With a clear path for progression, a supportive team culture and a firm-wide commitment to flexible working, this role offers the ideal platform for an ambitious Associate looking to thrive in a market-leading finance practice.

Your Experience

  • 2-6 years relevant Banking and Finance PQE
  • Be commercially aware, proactive and client-focused, with a genuine interest in Banking and Finance matters.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across the firm.
  • Be highly organised with good project and time management capabilities.

Benefits and Opportunities

  • Join a Tier 1 Banking & Finance department, working alongside recognised professionals in the industry.
  • Access a wide variety of sophisticated and high-value transactions across leveraged finance, real estate finance, fund finance and regulatory advisory.
  • Work with a prestigious client base, including top-tier banks, institutional investors and public sector bodies.
  • Benefit from world-class training, mentoring and structured career development as part of a firm that actively invests in its people.
  • You will have regular client interaction and clear long-term progression opportunities.
  • Be part of a progressive, inclusive and collaborative culture that supports flexible working and prioritises well-being.
  • Generous remuneration as well as top-tier benefits and bonus packages.
