The Lifeways Group in Sunderland is currently looking to expand their team of Support Workers in our local residential services.
You’ll be an enthusiastic person with patience, either looking for a career change to bring new life and experiences into our service or an experienced Support Worker with a background in complex emotional or behavioural settings, seeking a change and wanting to make a difference to people with complex needs, helping them find new opportunities at home and in the community.
At Church View apartments, residents benefit from a vibrant network of staff and friends, while also having peace and quiet when needed.
The property has level access and a lift for internal access to upper floors. There are twelve apartments, each with one bedroom, an open-plan kitchen and living room, and a wet room style bathroom. All ground floor apartments have patio doors leading to a communal garden.
There are also twelve accessible bungalows, each with one bedroom, an open-plan kitchen and living room, with doors leading onto a shared garden.
You’ll receive a fully paid induction, ongoing training, and support from a dedicated Manager. There’s also an opportunity to undertake a funded qualification in health and social care through Lifeways Group, plus many other benefits when you join.
We work within the principles of person-centred support, enabling development and inclusion in daily life within the home and community. Each service user has their own self-contained room, and your work will be varied, supporting activities like swimming, shopping, going for coffee, visiting cinemas, zoos, and clubs.
You’ll assist with household chores such as cooking, laundry, vacuuming, and dusting, and in some cases, personal care tasks like bathing, toileting, and feeding.
CONTRACTS AVAILABLE
Sessional/bank hours also available (flexible working to fit around you)
Working hours are on a shift pattern, including some weekends
