Bank Support Worker, Paediatric Complex Care

We are seeking experienced and compassionate carers to join a 1:1 package of care just outside of Maidstone, Kent. We are looking for gentle, compassionate, competent Carers to work regular night shifts for a 15-month old toddler. This child has complex clinical needs, and is fed through an NG tube, has a tracheostomy, and requires a high level of attentiveness and care.

Shift times are 22:00- 07:00.

Main duties of the job

This is a 1:1 package of care, that requires intense daily support managing child's personal needs.

A driver is required, due to limited transport links.

Job responsibilities
  • Provide personal support to a child with high level needs.
  • Work to build a positive, professional relationship with the family
  • Support medication administration and provide accurate documentation
  • Observe, record, and escalate changes in condition following care plans
  • Assist with nutrition, and other essential care needs
  • Communicate effectively with family, Airmid Team and social care teams as required
  • Maintain accurate records using our electronic care record system
  • Adhere to infection control, safeguarding, and health & safety procedures
  • Right to work and live in the UK (UK Citizen or Indefinite Leave to Remain)
  • Basic Life Support & Moving and Handling (practical)
  • Able to evidence a clean DBS
  • Provide satisfactory professional references
Person Specification
Experience
  • Be eligible to work within the UK.
  • Hold a valid UK driving Licence.
  • Be able to use your own motor vehicle as part of this role.
  • Be reliable, caring, and compassionate.
  • Be looking to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals receiving care.
  • Have a minimum of 1 years experience working in a frontline NHS role or within a Complex Care post, with experience managing Paediatric Cases.
