Swanton Care & Community Ltd in Hertfordshire is seeking a Bank Support Worker to help residents get out into the community and enjoy home life. You will provide practical and emotional support, respecting individual choices and promoting independence.

This 0 hours contract offers flexible shifts (days, nights, weekends) with DBS and reference checks required. You will work as part of a caring team to enable people to live the life they want.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring or support roles is preferred.
• DBS check and references required.
• Ability to promote independence and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance and emotional support to people in residential care.

About The Role

The Role

Whilst fully embracing the company ethos support workers provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they want to live.

Support is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

• To provide support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
• Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
• To facilitate social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, supported employment, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice.
• General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care.
• As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.
