Job summary

Swanton Care & Community Ltd in Hengoed is seeking Bank Support Workers to provide practical assistance and emotional support to people we support, promoting independence and respecting individuality.

You will work on a rota with days, evenings and nights, including weekends, and complete a range of records. Pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS are required; experience in complex care is essential.

  • Provide practical assistance and emotional support to enable people to live the life they choose
  • Support health and wellbeing, including physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual needs

  • Assist with housekeeping tasks and personal care where appropriate

About The Role

Support is required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We are looking for Bank Support Workers covering days, evenings, nights in Hengoed.

The main focus of the support is to enable the people we support to live a full and happy life, to run their own home and to take part in a range of activities in the community.

Provide practical assistance and emotional support to empower the people we support to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.

Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people we support and ensure they are met in an inclusive way. Facilitating social, educational or work activities such as visiting family and friends, walks, shopping and other recreational activities of their choice. General housekeeping duties that can include shopping, domestic duties as well as elements of personal care. As part of the role, you will need to be able to complete a range of records and documents.

The position involves lone working. You would need to be able to work on a rota which includes shift work and weekends. Experience working within complex care is essential.
