Job summary

Landau is seeking a Bank Support Worker in Stoke to provide day-to-day support for individuals with learning disabilities, following each learner's care plan and promoting confidence, independence and personal development.

You will work with tutors to identify required support, help learners complete tasks, and maintain accurate records while promoting safe participation in activities. This is a zero hours role with flexible hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting learners with additional needs is desirable.
• Ability to support learners with anxiety or confidence issues.
• Experience meeting the needs of learners with robust care plans is desirable.
• Proven ability to plan, prepare, or adapt resources for learners.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

• Provide day-to-day support to individuals with learning disabilities in line with their individual care and support plans.
• Collaborate with the tutor to identify the additional support and intervention activities required, tailoring activities and materials, to enable learners to succeed and achieve
• Support safe participation in centre-based and community-based learning activities.
• Work with individuals who require targeted support to complete all tasks and activities, supporting learners to develop their knowledge, skills and experience and grow in confidence and independence
• Identifying barriers to learning and devise and develop a range of appropriate strategies to assist learners in resolving issues or tackling concerns
• Supportthe tutor with learner portfolios, leading where reasonably required on conducting assessments, providing feedback to learners, conducting progress reviews, record-keeping and the provision of programme administration andsupport
• Promote good behaviour management, applying policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner, and take appropriate action in a timely and sensitive manner, completing records or reports accurately where required
• Work as part of the team to devise creative approaches to overcoming barriers, engaging learners, developing the content and delivery of sessions, and assisting with the promotion and success of our programmes
• Supporting learners in developing their self-esteem and confidence- providing pastoral support and effective impartial information, advice and guidance toward achievement and progression
• Support learners to achieve to their potential, including support to achieve learning objectives, completing portfolios, and readiness for assessments and personal development goals
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including daily notes, incident reports, and support plans.
• Being aware of confidential issues linked to learner/home and personal situations and to adhere to Safeguarding and Confidentiality Policies and Procedures
• Ensure that project manager and tutor are kept fully informed of learnerprogress, and support liaison with learners, parents and relevant stakeholders, agencies etc as appropriate, reporting where required
• Support learners on a 121 basis where required adhering to their personal care plans and risk assessments
• Report any concerns regarding wellbeing, safeguarding, or health promptly to the Coordinator or Manager and follow company policies
• To encourage the individual to be actively involved with their learning, positive progression and to reflect their performance on reviews as directed by tutor
• Act as the key worker for identified learners, championing their engagement, attendance, progress and achievement
• Monitor and support the health, wellbeing and welfare of learners under your supervision, including in respect of safeguarding and any adherence to specified routines or requirement,
• Provide flexible support to the wider business as reasonably required, fulfilling occasional alternative duties as requested, so that expertise is deployed to meet business priorities at a level consistent with those outlined in this job description

OTHER

• To contribute actively to team and departmental meetings as required
• To promote the charity in a positive and professional manner, acting as an ambassador for the charity
• To provide management information, professional intelligence and other support to organisational staff and the Charity CEO as required
