Overview

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting bank nurses for Sutton Hospital (Surrey) and Chelsea Hospital (London). Working as part of our temporary staff bank offers flexible, ad hoc and longer full-time bookings. You could work occasional shifts or days to suit your lifestyle or for a week, a number of months, or during holidays and weekends. You can depend on a steady supply of work and choose when to work. Opportunities include working on wards providing excellent patient care, or roles such as special care or patient escort.

Responsibilities include assisting with teaching patients in preparation for investigations, treatment and home care; being aware of side effects of treatments and adopting a problem-solving approach to minimise adverse reactions; delivering direct, skilled nursing care with supervision until competent (e.g., wound dressings, removal of drains, insertion of urinary catheters); developing awareness of protocols for patients undergoing clinical trials; being aware of hospital policies and procedures and collaborating with other health care professionals to ensure these are observed; and rostering to care for patients over a 24-hour period.
