We''re seeking experienced Emergency Department bank staff to support our dynamic team and deliver exceptional care when it''s needed most. ED experience is preferred. Our friendly Staffing Solutions team oversee the running of a successful and supportive staff bank which covers a variety of shifts across 365 days of the year and we''d love you to be part of this.
We are also looking for enthusiastic individuals who are committed to providing 5-star patient care to children and young people, to join the bank with our highly skilled Paediatric Emergency Department at Whiston Hospital.
Applicants are required to have a current NMC Peadiatric Registration and are desired to have substantial post registration experience.
About Us!
The Paediatric Emergency Department consists of a team of experienced and dedicated Nursing and Medical staff providing care to approximately 6000 children per year, in addition approximately 800 children are admitted for surgical procedures.
An Enhanced DBS Certificate, with the checking of Children''s Barred List is required for this post.

To be responsible in association with the team leader for the formulation and implementation of individual patient care plans.
To participate in the holistic assessment of patients, and to formulate and review individual patient care plans and to act as named nurse or associate for a group of patients from admission to discharge as determined by the Ward Manager.
To commence and participate in research/special projects as directed by the ward manager.
To contribute to the setting, maintaining and monitoring of standards of care within the ward.
Help to ensure that all equipment is in safe working order in conjunction with the department equipment controller.
Internal rotation onto night duty and twilight shifts are required.
To assist in the promotion of effective communication with all ward staff and other departments as required.
To remain updated and fully comply with all Trust Infection control policies
Promote the safeguarding of vulnerable patients in line with national and local policy.
CLINICAL & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain appropriate NMC registration
To be aware of and practice professionally in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and The Scope of Professional Practice.
To personally ensure fulfilment of the requirements for professional updating and to maintain a personal record for the future registration purposes.
Ensure that nursing care is appropriate, provided and is consistent with clinical guidelines.
Implement and evaluate programmes of care to meet needs of patients and undertake all forms of care within the clinical environment.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure patient records are kept up to date and accurate and recording is done in line with Trust policies and procedures.
TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES
To participate in the teaching of students and the in-service training of qualified nurses and health care assistants and act as facilitator/mentor/preceptor as appropriate.
LINE MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise Health Care Assistants as and when required
Supervise Junior Staff Nurses once deemed sufficiently competent and experienced in role by Ward Manager
RESEARCH & AUDIT
To commence and participate in research/special projects as directed by the ward manager.
