Job description
Overview

York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for talented, caring, enthusiastic staff nurses to join our Nurse Bank. You will have the opportunity to expand and develop your skills across different clinical areas and across the Trust at hospitals in York, Scarborough, Bridlington, Selby and Easingwold, as well as our wider community teams. You are required to hold a professional NMC registration to join the Bank.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
  • Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
  • Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient.
  • Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.
  • Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands.
  • Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures.

A confidential checking service for transgender applicants is available via the DBS sensitive applications route (basic, standard and enhanced).
  • Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): You will be required to acknowledge awareness of our selection processes related to AI usage.

Additional information
  • Please note that all bank contract workers are required to meet a minimum of 45 hours in a six month period (average one shift per month) to keep the contract active.
