We are looking to appoint a Specialty Doctor to provide ad hoc or routine clinical sessional cover in our Oral Surgery team. This post will be for a fixed term of 1 year. We are a busy Oral Surgery department, covering Northumberland and North Tyneside.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be expected to carry out face to face assessments, and a range of oral surgery treatments, both under local anaesthetic and general anaesthetic.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • For Dentists: MFDS/ FDS or MJDF For Medics: MRCS or FRCS
  • Full registration and a License to Practice with the General Dental Council (GDC) and/ or General Medical Council
  • Evidence of a minimum of 7 years post qualification clinical experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades
  • Sedation qualification or equivalent
  • Academic excellence e.g. prizes, merits, awards
  • Recognised management or leadership course
