Job summary

Optegra Eye Healthcare invites an experienced Speciality Glaucoma Doctor to join our bank team at the Bradford Eye Hospital. The role pays up to £65p/h, dependent on experience, and focuses on supporting NHS glaucoma services with clinical and surgical duties.

We seek a motivated Staff Grade Doctor with GMC registration, strong glaucoma expertise, and the ability to work independently in a collaborative hospital setting, delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized university.
• Valid GMC registration with a license to practice in UK.
• Experience in ophthalmology, particularly in managing glaucoma cases and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with existing and undiagnosed glaucoma along with other ocular conditions.
• Perform diagnostic tests and procedures such as visual field assessments, optical coherence tomography (OCT), volk, CCT and gonioscopy.
• Provide management plans for existing Glaucoma referrals
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to service development initiatives.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding glaucoma management and treatment options.

The Role

What You’ll Need

• UK NHS Glaucoma clinic experience
• Gonioscopy experience
• SLT laser experience
• Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
