Spire Gatwick Park are looking to recruit a qualified Children's nurse to join the flexible working bank to cover the paediatric list.
Main duties of the job
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing pre- and post-operative care to children and young people, assisting in their recovery and getting them ready for discharge. This includes wound care, assisting with personal care, and providing emotional support during stressful times.
- Liaising with parents, guardians, and consultants, giving advice, and making recommendations to improve patient wellbeing. Also, being adept at identifying deteriorating patients and making informed decisions on the spot.
- Risk assessing children and young people regarding their suitability for admission.
- Providing RCN support during paediatric clinics, assisting with minor operations, and Phlebotomy.
- Working as part of a small team with opportunities to help run and grow the service according to needs.

Who we are looking for:
- NMC Registered Sick Children's Nurse with no restrictions on practice.
- EPALS certification.
- At least 2 years post-qualification experience in paediatrics, ideally in a surgical setting.
- Excellent understanding of CQC criteria.
- Willingness to learn and support the daily running of the paediatric service.
- Ability to work autonomously without supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
Working hours and benefits
Shifts between 8am - 8pm. Contract: Bank 0 hours, flexible as required.
