Job Description:

South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed, care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex.

We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex, with 411 beds. Each registered home offers high standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours a day, for long and short-term stays.

Reporting to the Home Manager, this role involves working with an experienced clinical team carrying out planned, proactive, and reactive clinical duties.

The team is committed to providing professional, respectful, and quality care within a safe home environment.

This is a hands-on role; appropriate experience and relevant qualifications are essential, as is the commitment to providing a first-class service to our residents.

Job responsibilities:

• Maintain high standards of patient care, ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all residents.
• Champion patient choice and autonomy, ensuring all staff work respectfully and with dignity towards residents and colleagues.
• Support and assist in managing the care team during shifts, collaborating to ensure excellent resident care and communication.
• Foster relationships with families, advocates, and next of kin, keeping them informed of residents’ physical and emotional well-being.
• Complete all documentation comprehensively, concisely, and promptly, including generating and reviewing individualized care plans.
• Order, store, administer, and manage medication according to legal, professional, and company policies.

Skills, qualifications, and knowledge:

• Experience in a nursing role
• A Nursing degree or higher qualification
• Registered with the NMC with an active PIN
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Good verbal and non-verbal reporting skills
• Experience in managing teams
• Clinical experience in geriatric, frailty, end-of-life, and dementia care
