Job summary

Spire Southampton Hospital is recruiting a Staff Nurse for the Surgical wards on the staffing bank in Southampton. You will join a friendly Ward team, delivering high-quality nursing care across day and night shifts with a minimum of 4 shifts per month.

The role requires an NMC-registered nurse with acute care experience. A surgical background is desirable and full induction, training, and progression opportunities are provided by Spire Healthcare.

  • Interest in developing surgical ward experience welcome.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' health and wellbeing across a complex caseload.

Staff Nurse | Surgical wards | Private hospital | Southampton | Staffing Bank | Flexible working

Spire Southampton have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse to jointheir friendly and welcoming Ward department on the staffing bank. The successful applicant will work in a teamthatprovides high quality evidence-based nursing care in ward-based settings. You must be flexible to work a variety of shifts across days and nights and weekends with an expectation of a minimum of 4 shifts per month with a review every quarter and termination if this is not adhered to.

Duties and responsibilities
  • You will support in assessing patient’s health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
  • Assist in the delivery of care to meet the individuals’ health and wellbeing needs.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
  • Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others.
  • Promote best practice in health and safety and security.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing services.
Who we're looking for
  • You will be a Registered Nurse.
  • Be used to working in teams with minimum supervision.
  • Experience of working in an acute environment.
  • Competence across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge acquired through state registration.
  • A surgical background is desirable, but we are happy to consider Nurses with an interest in developing their experience in this field
  • Commitment to a minimum of 4 shifts per month

Working Hours: Variation of long days, nights, earlies and lates (minimum 4 shifts per month)

Contract Type: Bank - 0 hours contract
