Are you a Mental Health Nurse looking for a role to use your compassion and experience to deliver quality care and support?
Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest Trusts in the country, serving a population of 1.2 million people. We are comprised of acute hospital sites at Broomfield in Chelmsford, Basildon, and Southend, determined to provide the best health services for our local population.

You'll be expected to:

  • Provide a highly specialised range of clinical interventions and knowledge of evidence-based models of practice relevant to the care group.
  • Deliver a high standard of evidence-based inpatient nursing care in the designated clinical setting in partnership with the team, the service users, and where appropriate their family.
  • Act as a primary nurse in the assessment of needs and planning of the patients' care.

You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team, providing care and support to patients with complex and sometimes challenging behaviours. You'll help improve patients' quality of life by ensuring their needs are met and that each person is always treated with dignity and respect.

We are seeking psychologically minded, compassionate nurses who share the trust's aim to work alongside the people we support. Key responsibilities include:

  • To deliver a high standard of evidence-based inpatient nursing care in the designated clinical setting in partnership with the team, the service users, and where appropriate their family.
  • To act as a primary nurse in the assessment of needs and planning of the patients' care.
  • To work as part of the nursing team in ensuring that the patient/s are supported utilizing your skills and experience as a mental health nurse enhancing the patient's safety and experience in an adult/children's acute hospital environment.
  • To provide and develop in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team and other relevant agencies a high-quality service for patients and carers that takes into account individuals' physical, psychological, spiritual, and social needs.
