Job description

Everyone’s Turning Point is unique. It’s the moment when they realise they’ve made a small, but important, step forward. Very often, that small step is the start of something bigger, but only when the right support, advice and services are in place. That’s where you come in. You’ll make a real difference to their lives as you develop the personal, flexible and recovery-focused support plans they need to help turn things around. Passionate about people, you’ll support them to take control, improve their quality of life and face the future with confidence.

Role Overview

We are seeking dedicated, passionate, and skilled Recovery Workers to join our team at the new Ashford-based RecoveryHouse. This residential service offers up to 5 days of support for individuals with enduring mental health needs in crisis, in a setting with 5 rooms.

During their stay, service users benefit from a safe, therapeutic environment including quiet spaces, social areas, sensory environments, and activities. Our person-centred approach involves personalised assessments, planning, and reviews, aiming to support service users in building skills, developing coping mechanisms, and managing their mental health effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Providing recovery-focused support in accordance with individual support plans
  • Using positive communication and engagement skills to support service users
  • Supporting medication management
  • Maintaining daily records and incident reports
  • Assisting with induction of new staff
  • Upholding cleanliness and infection control standards

This role requires flexibility, including working on a roster that covers office hours, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. Two positions are for dedicated night Recovery Workers, primarily lone workers, supported by a site-based sleep-in colleague for emergencies. Night shifts may include some weekends but do not require coverage of other shifts.

Candidate Profile

Previous experience in mental health is desirable but not essential. A genuine desire to support recovery, a proactive attitude, and compassion are key. You should be motivated, hardworking, and capable of supporting individuals in crisis, with strong communication skills to liaise effectively with professionals and diverse service users. Personal interests such as sports, arts, music, or cooking are welcomed as they can enhance engagement.
