The Role

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong clinical background in acute surgical care. We are looking for a dynamic and positive individual to ensure the Theatre department is Safe, Effective, Responsive, Caring, and Well Led.

The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Theatre team, developing excellent working relationships with staff members, consultants and key stakeholders.

They will assist in driving sustainable excellence in the safety and quality of care and services.

They will support the Quality agenda by monitoring achievements against required standards, identifying risks to quality of care and services and planning, recommending /implementing changes for continuous improvement.

Where you’ll be based

North Downs Hospital is one of Surrey's leading private hospitals with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare treatments and services. Located within the M25, close to the centre of Caterham, the hospital opened in 1974 and currently has 15 bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities and a day case suite. By investing in advanced medical technology, the hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services. The fully equipped ultra clean air theatre is particularly suitable for orthopaedic procedures offered such as arthroscopy, hip and knee replacements. The day unit is suitable for minor operations and endoscopy. Treatments at the hospital also include cataract removal, ENT procedures, hernia repair, varicose vein surgery, hysterectomy, prostate surgery and urological procedures.

Essential experience and qualifications for this role

ODP level 3

Comprehensive understanding of relevant clinical standards

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Sound computer skills and knowledge

A registered member with the HCPC or NMC

Strong Anaesthetic and Recovery experience
