Role Overview
You'll be supporting our Bank Reconciliations Manager in all aspects of the Hastings and Group bank reconciliation processes. This is a great entry role into Finance and we'd strongly encourage anyone interested in a career in Finance to apply.
Job details - you'll need to have demonstrable experience in:
- Ensuring that the daily download of all statements and cashbook data into our reconciliation software is completed and reconcile data using the automated reconciliation system
- Resolving daily unreconciled items manually through thorough investigation, gaining a clear understanding of the nature of the issue and the reason why transactions don't reconcile
- Leading weekly meetings with the relevant business areas with the aim to resolve any outstanding unreconciled transactions to avoid items falling into outstanding
- Escalating significant increases in daily unreconciled transactions to senior management and provide regular updates to the reconciliation manager on progress
- Identifying root causes for unreconciled transactions and sharing findings with the relevant business areas for resolution
- Accurately and efficiently preparing and completing monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring that reconciliation differences are resolved or explained for audit purposes
Essential Skills/experience
- Previous experience of dealing with customer queries via email, telephone and in person
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is essential and Guidewire experience is advantageous
- Previous insurance/financial services experience preferred, with a passion for developing a career in finance long term (bank reconciliations experience would be a bonus!)
