We have an opportunity within our dynamic Radiology department based at our Devizes Treatment Centre, requiring a competent Bank - Healthcare Assistant to join the team.
The Radiology department has an opening for a Bank - Healthcare Assistant to assist in providing that patient focused service within the unit, undertaking basic tests, providing patient support and assisting in patient's investigations.
This position will see you providing support to the Radiology team, ensuring that a continued safe and effective service is provided to all users across the department.
This is a Bank position, (0 hour contract)
offering casual working hours
Monday to Friday - 07:00 to - 16:00
What you'll be doing
As the Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will be liaising with varied departments in the hospital gathering patient information as required and ensuring the patient and the department is ready for their arrival for their investigation.
Under direction of clinical staff, you'll be assisting with interventional procedures and also assisting the Radiologist and Sonographer in undertaking investigations such as for joint injections.
You will be chaperoning patients through clinics and ultrasound, offering that patient centred care at all times.
You'll be providing that two-way open conversation with patients and their families as well as offering advice to patients and their carers.
What we'll look for in you
It is envisaged that the appointed Bank - Healthcare Assistant will have past working experience in a hospital / surgical environment and might have already completed the NVQ level 1&2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
You'll be a strong communicator, confident to converse at all levels, both written and verbal, as you will be communicating with a wide range of people, from internal colleagues from varied departments to patients, their families and friends.
You'll be computer literate, confident with writing letters, and emailing internal and external parties relating to your patients care. You should be familiar with MS Office tools and have examples of having to quickly learn a new system as you will be using our in-house system on a daily basis.
