Job summary

Spire Portsmouth Hospital is seeking a Bank Radiology Department Assistant to support patient care in the radiology department. You will chaperone patients, help move them between examination rooms and record each radiology episode on the RIS.

Bank cover is used for busy periods, sickness, and annual leave, so hours vary. You will work as part of a team, maintain patient confidentiality, and contribute to a clean, safe environment with access to Spire benefits.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients, carers, visitors and relatives during their visit to the department
• Act as chaperone in line with policy
• Help move patients between examination rooms
• Record each patient's radiology episode on the RIS
• Liaise with radiographers, nurses, radiologists, consultants and external departments
• Assist with audit projects as required
• Comply with health and safety policy, department procedures, IRMER local rules and Spire policies
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout radiology
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times
• Work as part of a team
• Know radiology systems (RIS, PACS, IEP, patient database)

Bank radiology department assistant post at Spire Portsmouth Hospital, a private hospital in the Spire Healthcare group, on flexible as‑needed shifts.
