Overview
Do you have experience engaging with communities? We are a supportive, innovative, high achieving public health dietetic team at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board and are looking to employ Dietetic Support Workers on the bank at CTMUHB to work with children and families or adults to deliver a range of community based initiatives; utilising a range of agreed approaches to support positive changes to food, nutrition, and physical activity behaviours. They will support the local delivery and evaluation of Nutrition Skills for LifeTM services.
Responsibilities
- Work with children and families or adults to deliver community based initiatives that support positive changes to food, nutrition and physical activity behaviours.
- Support local delivery and evaluation of Nutrition Skills for LifeTM services.
- Take a range of anthropometric measurements as part of the role.
- Provide a vital link between primary care professionals and the community to empower service users to make health improvements they identify.
- Work in partnership with the multidisciplinary team (e.g., medical staff, Public Health, community nurses, Social Services, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and other areas as appropriate) and maintain clear communication.
- Provide one-to-one information and guidance to service users to support and encourage health improvements.
- Undertake clinical interventions delegated by a registered Dietitian.
Qualifications / Eligibility
- Experience engaging with communities is desirable.
- Ability to work with children and families or adults in a community/public health setting.
- Willingness to participate in training opportunities and supervision with Public Health Dietetics staff.
- Applicants who are not UK or Republic of Ireland nationals will require sponsorship to obtain a Health and Care Visa or a Skilled Worker Visa unless they already hold permission to work via another route. Prospective candidates should self-assess eligibility by visiting the UK Government Work in the UK guidance. For eligible candidates, the Health and Care Visa offers reduced application costs and exemption from the Immigration Health Surcharge.
