Job description

Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Bank Project Worker at our Plymouth Domestic Abuse Service.

We specialise in delivering a wide range of personalised housing, care, and support services to help people across England to live as independently as possible.

The role of Bank Project Worker will include:

  • Regularly assessing the needs of clients by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training, and employment
  • Assisting clients with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping clients to build their confidence, resilience and self-esteem
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the clients and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks

Skills and experiences:

  • You will have previous experience in a role supporting victims of domestic abuse or a background gained in a supported living environment in a project worker capacity
  • Sound knowledge of housing management including voids and arrears management
  • Good understanding of occupancy agreements
  • The ability to react effectively under pressure
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and ability to source innovative solutions to problems
  • You will be empathetic and non-judgmental with good interpersonal and customer care skills
  • NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is essential
