Job Summary

Manage the successful transformation of a portfolio of services, within a whole system approach, to improve outcomes for Powys patients.

Work closely with clinicians across the system including out of county District General Hospitals, specialised and local health services; patients, families, and carers; and other partners such as the local authority, third sector and Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust to deliver improved wellbeing, earlier help and support and joined up care closer to home in line with the Health and Care Strategy.

Work at corporate level across the organisation with considerable freedom to act, will play a key role in supporting PTHB in the development and implementation of PTHB long-term transformation programmes, strategies, and annual plan where there are significant opportunities to save and improve lives. Take ownership and manage the delivery of programmes and projects, ensuring all controls are established.

Have specific project and programme management responsibilities, often working within tight timescales and competing demands. The work will involve working with highly complex, sensitive, and contentious information with a high degree of autonomy.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for

  • Management of single or multiple programmes spanning the entire process for programme definition, programme planning through to implementation and transition to operational use.
  • Delivery of successful programmes of diverse complexity across the health and social care community.
  • Contribute to development of change management and benefit realisation plans, ensuring alignment between service development, business as usual and corporate strategy.

The post holder is expected to support colleagues and transfer skills to grow and embed service improvement and programme management capabilities within the organisation.

Utilise specialist knowledge and experience of a delivery and improvement culture to achieve step changes in quality across complex pathways and systems of care.
