We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Lewes, a category B men's prison. Free parking and a very welcoming team!

Hours

Monday to Sunday, 2 shifts per week.
Salary

You'll receive a bank hourly rate of £23.00 per hour.

What you'll be doing

As a Primary Care Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions.
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
  • Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse-led clinics to your patient group while being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence-based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback so that care is personalized and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgmental care that makes a real difference, as defined throughout our bespoke Health in Justice competency framework.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of.
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence-based care, and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.

Qualifications required
  • Registered nurse - Adult
  • Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP, and national standards
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies and best practice

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
