We are looking for a qualified practice nurse who has experience of general practice to join our bank. This is a zero hour post and staff can look at available shifts and apply for those which suit them.

Main duties of the job

The core responsibilities of the Practice Nurse are as follows. On occasion, there may be a requirement to carry out tasks not listed below, that are within the reasonable scope of the role.

  • To support the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) lead and to work to the IPC Policy
  • To assess the needs of patients ensuring the provision of healthcare is appropriate, incorporating evidence based practice
  • Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for chronic disease patients that promote health and wellbeing
  • To identify, manage and support patients at risk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects to patients health
  • Provide routine nursing care to patients in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and NSF

  • The workforce pool bank is designed to support with practices across North Tyneside with short and long term absence from contracted practice staff.
  • Enhanced Access service is an extension of normal GP practice, offering patients appointments outside of normal practice hours, our current hours are Monday to Friday 5pm-8pm and Saturday 9am-5pm.
