Job summary

Spire Wirral Hospital is seeking a Bank Porter to provide high-quality portering and distribution services across the hospital. You will assist with patient movement, linen delivery, waste handling, and general security support in a multi-skilled team.

Role requires a clean driving licence, excellent communication, and the ability to work shifts including evenings, nights and weekends. Onsite benefits accompany a competitive hourly rate and flexible bank hours.

Responsibilities

• Transfer and guide patients safely around the hospital in a caring, professional manner.
• Assist in patient and staff safety and handle courier/portering duties as required.
• Collect and deliver linen; manage waste disposal per policy WM01.
• Support security of hospital and grounds and report issues to management.
• Undertake driving duties as required.

Spire Wirral Hospital is recruiting for a Porter to provide the highest standards of personal service to patients and staff in all departments and to provide a highly efficient and courteous portering and distribution service throughout the hospital and to work as multi-skilled member of the team providing high level, quality support to he hospital, covering any of the courier, portering, and security duties.

Contract Type: Bank/Zero hours

Duties And Responsibilities (not limited to):

• To transfer, transport and guide patients safely around the hospital, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner
• To assist in the safety of patients, staff and consultants
• To collect and deliver clean and dirty linen
• Responsible for the teams safe management of the collection and disposal of waste, both domestic
  and clinical in line with corporate and hospital policy WM01
• To assist with the general security of the hospital and associated grounds and report any security
  problems to the Senior Management team
• Report any maintenance issues to the Maintenance department via Pirana
• To undertake driving duties as required

Who We're Looking For?

• Whilst no formal qualifications are required you must be able to communicate with other members of staff and patients clearly and your personal appearance must be of a high standard, expected in a professional healthcare environment.
• A clean driving licence is essential
• Experience of delivering frontline customer service and working in a similar environment
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Excellent customer care skills
• Ability to work without supervision
• Caring and sympathetic
• Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends
