Are you a Nurse or Paramedic looking for a new direction but not ready to leave your current role? Consider our bank opportunities.

You will work alongside the Police in custody suites caring for detainees, potentially building a career within the criminal justice system and helping vulnerable individuals.

We require Registered (Adult) Nurses / RGNs, or Paramedics with 2 years' post-qualification experience, committed to delivering high-quality care and developing clinical, forensic, and wider skills.

You must be flexible to work in your base Custody suite and across an assigned region in Police Custody Suites and Force area.

What can you expect to earn?

Based on shifts per month:

  • £20.50 per hour for 1-2 shifts
  • £22.50 per hour for 3-5 shifts
  • £24.50 per hour for 6+ shifts
Experience - Essential
  • RN, RGN or (RMN with dual registration): 2 years post qualification - Band 5 minimum
  • Paramedic: 2 years post qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a patient-facing role within relevant fields such as General Practice, A&E, Emergency Medicine, acute medicine, Walk-in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare, or Ambulance Service
Licence/Certification:
  • HCPC/NMC registration
  • Driving Licence
  • UK residency for 3+ years with no gaps exceeding 3 months
  • Police Vetting required for all candidates
Role responsibilities:

The custody suites are dynamic environments. You will provide physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing support, gather forensic samples, assess detainees' fitness for detention or release, administer medications, and collaborate with Liaison and Diversion teams to address root causes of criminal behavior.

No prior forensic experience is necessary as training will be provided.
