Job summary

Circle Health Group's Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant to join the Physiotherapy department on a bank basis.

This is an as-and-when-required role, supporting the team by assisting with physiotherapy interventions, guiding patients through exercises, setting up treatment spaces and handling basic admin tasks.

Candidates should have healthcare experience, good communication and a patient-focused approach. Salary: Up to £14.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a healthcare, care, or rehabilitation setting.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A caring, patient-focused approach and commitment to promoting independence.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of physiotherapy interventions as directed by a registered Physiotherapist.
• Support patients with prescribed exercises, mobility practice, and therapeutic activities in a safe and compassionate manner.
• Set up and prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions, ensuring all equipment is safe, clean, and ready for use.
• Provide reassurance and motivation to patients during therapy, helping build confidence and engagement.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, stock checks, and preparation of therapy materials.
• Follow all relevant health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding procedures.
