EARLY MORINING STARTS 08.00

Ward cover start time 07:30

EVENINGS 14.00-20.00.

WEEKENDS AND BANK HOLIDAY COVER: 07.30-11.00

We are offering a bank only contract to support our clinical phlebotomy services across Cheshire. We are seeking experienced phlebotomy staff to support this vacancy

Main duties of the job

The post holders are required for the collection of venous blood samples for pathological analysis.

The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a team when required. Therefore for the bank only roles we require experienced phlebotomy staff only.

They will be asked to liaise with other health care professionals, clinicians, laboratory staff, patients and/or their representatives, both in person and over the telephone.

The role involves handling biological samples that may contain pathogenic micro-organisms; therefore, ensuring that all procedures are adhered to when undertaking blood sampling according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and the policies and procedures of the department, especially in relation to Health & Safety and Quality.

The post holder must be able to support the department in multiple venues, when required.

The post holder must have access to a road worthy vehicle and a clean Full UK driving licence. Your car insurance should include business cover.

Use of a vehicle and a UK driving licence is an essential aspect of the role; therefore, please do not apply if you do not have the essential criteria.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post will be based in Leighton Hospital and surrounding clinics.

The bank only phlebotomy positions will be required to cover

base Sites in CPS are Leighton Hospital and Macclesfield District General Hospital.

All our vacancies include a 7 day working pattern, and the successful candidate will be expected to cover weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

Cheshire phlebotomy services (CPS) provide phlebotomy services at multiple venues including Leighton Hospital, Macclesfield District General Hospital, Knutsford Community Hospital, Congleton war memorial hospital, Victoria Infirmary Northwich, and all Direct Access Localities.
