Job description

Bank Pharmacy Assistant/Porter - Supply and Distribution

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Communicate relevant information and advice to pharmacy, nursing, and medical teams; patients and service users; and external organisations as required.
  2. Provide an effective ward top-up service to wards/departments of the Trust.
  3. Supply medicines effectively to external customers, including Lancashire Care, Ambulance stations, GPs, Private hospitals, and other NHS hospitals.
  4. Offer reception services, including working on the phone rota, handling incoming work, and customer enquiries.
  5. Perform housekeeping duties to maintain good environmental standards.
  6. Contribute to effective team working within pharmacy.
  7. Comply with legal and organisational requirements, standards, and codes of practice related to equality, diversity, discrimination, and rights.
  8. Maintain and develop personal competence, seeking to extend knowledge and skills within the scope of the role and professional practice, policies, and legislation.
  9. Support the training and development of the pharmacy team.
  10. Ensure the quality of service provision.
  11. Comply with current legislation, policies, good practices, organisational, and professional codes of conduct.
  12. Identify, report, and record incidents and near misses according to Trust policy.
  13. Proactively manage risks and maintain safety, adhering to health, safety, and security legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  14. Contribute to the delivery and achievement of the department's Service Plan and specific service improvements.
  15. Assist in the delivery of In-Patient and Discharge medication services.
