Spire Portsmouth Hospital is recruiting for a highly motivated and experienced Scrub Practitioner to join our high performing Theatre Team's temporary staff bank. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside some of the region's most experienced Consultants, covering varied and diverse cases.

Main duties of the job

Our Theatre staff /ODPs are experienced in a variety of surgical procedures or are willing to learn new procedures and techniques under expert supervision. We promote from within the Spire network, offering long-term career and advancement opportunities.

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Scrubbing for Consultant-led surgeries across various specialties such as orthopaedics, cosmetics, gynae, and ENT
• Developing care plans considering patient needs, care pathways, and perioperative risks
• Assessing patient health and wellbeing, supporting care delivery
• Promoting best practice and contributing to quality improvements
• Enhancing health, safety, security, and infection control standards

Who we are looking for

• Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner with at least 2 years scrub experience
• Current NMC/HCPC registration with no restrictions
• Experience working in teams with minimal supervision
• Supported by professional and clinical knowledge
• Highly motivated, adaptable to challenging environments
• Orthopaedic experience is highly desirable
