TEAM
The banking team are a team of 6 and sits within the core finance transactions team compromising of Revenue, Accounts Payable, Accounts receivable and Banking.
The Banking teams’ function is to ensure the business payments are processed and accounted for on time, where that be Accounts payables, customer service refunds, tax, payroll, Treasury and other adhoc business payments. Every payment processed for the business runs through the Banking team.
JOB PURPOSE
> The Bank Payments Supervisor is responsible for co-ordinating external payments made by easyJet.
> The role facilitates payments through several bank accounts across different European countries and reports directly to the Banking Manager in the Financial Accounting team.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
> Maintaining full control of the cashier function, completing all payments each day.
> Ensuring that each payment is assessed by its urgency and placed on a high value payment run (CHAPS) or a low value payment run (BACS), ensuring costs are kept to a minimum.
> Monitoring the banking systems throughout the day to identify any unusual activity on the accounts and rectifying any issues as early as possible.
> Keeping rejections down, ensuring the payables team are informed of rejected payments and helping them to correct details for a straight through processing in the second submission.
> Being the main point of contact between the bank and the business with regards to payments processed, ensuring that all payments have been distributed to authorisers and submitted before the relevant cut off times.
> Responsible for maintaining all credit cards in the business and issuing any new applications to the bank.
> Measuring the number of manual payments from around the business monthly and looking at ways to educate the business of cost saving around the payments function.
> Reconciliation of month end bank accounts and providing explanation for any outstanding items.
> Production of the daily morning funding of accounts report and the afternoon funding report ensuring all accounts are in credit.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
> Experience of operating in a fast-paced environment
> Excellent communication skills
> Familiar with the different payment processes e.g., BACS, CHAPS, and urgency of business-critical payment. Experience of working with multiple foreign currencies will be an advantage, especially international payment processing.
> Must be someone who has a real drive to change and challenging ways of working
> Have a challenge mindset and the confidence to discuss and raise issues when they arise
> Someone who demonstrates excellent attention to detail
> Manage own time across variety of tasks and projects to deliver to deadlines

LOCATION & HOURS OF WORK
This full-time role will be based in Luton, and will be 40 hours per week, with some occasional travel required.
