Job description

Are you a Theatre Practitioner who wants to take control of your own rota with flexibility to work the shifts that suit you? We are looking for flexible Theatre Practitioners to join our bank, as we continue to expand throughout the UK!

Main duties of the job

The key responsibilities of the Theatre Practitioner will be to focus on patient centric care, participating in the entire pathways for all patients from pre-admission, surgery, and post-operative management. You will be an experienced Theatre Practitioner undertaking preoperative assessment, diagnostics testing, and theatre scrub under AfPP good practice guidance.

Job responsibilities
  1. Establish a compassionate environment by providing support to patients, friends, and families.
  2. Prepare clinical areas for clinical activities.
  3. Assist surgeons in the delivery of ophthalmic care.
  4. Admission and discharge of patients.
  5. Participate in departmental audits.

  7. Have effective listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  8. Thrives in a team environment.
Person Specification
Experience
  • Previous ophthalmic theatre experience is required.
  • Evidence of relevant professional development, clinically, preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration / ODP with valid HCPC Registration.
  • Up-to-date knowledge in area of practice.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passion for delivering first-rate patient safety and care.
